Radius Engineering

Radius underground shelters are in their 32nd year of service. They are designed and developed by Walton W. McCarthy, M.E., author of PRINCIPLES of PROTECTION, U.S. Handbook of NBC Weapon Fundamentals and Shelter Engineering Standards, Fifth Edition, 2000, which is the United State's bible on shelter engineering. Mr. McCarthy is the principle engineer of RADIUS ENGINEERING, INC. and the leading expert designing 'high-tech' WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) shelters. Radius underground WMD shelters are totally self-contained structural fiberglass high pressure structures designed to protect 8-200 adults for 6 months to 5 years. Multiple shelters can be connected into underground communities. The shelters are specifically designed and developed to protect people during and after disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, firestorms, power failures, nuclear & chemical accidents, nuclear, biological, & chemical terrorism, and full-scale protracted nuclear, chemical and biological war. The smaller shelters come preassembled while the larger ones are shipped in pieces and assembled on site. The shelters that are assembled on site provide a shell for a free-standing apartment house while the preassembled shelters come complete with everything built in. Both types of shelters have all required life support systems. Radius shelters are used throughout the world to protect people for Business Contingency Plans (BCP's) in military, medical, corporate markets and Family Contingency Plans (FCP) for families.
